Accessibility

Business Finland aims to offer digital services that can be used by anyone regardless of their circumstances. Accessibility improves the quality of digital services and promotes access to public services for all.

We are committed to the EU Accessibility Directive and the implementing Act on the Provision of Digital Services (in Finnish). This means that the following websites must comply with the level A and AA requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 criteria.

This accessibility statement was published on September 22, 2020. The accessibility of the website has been assessed by Business Finland together with Siteimprove Oy and the technical website provider.

Websites that meet the critical accessibility requirements

The following websites are mainly compliant with the legal requirements, and there are no critical accessibility deficiencies on the sites.

The following websites will be mainly compliant with the legal requirements during 2023, and there are no critical accessibility deficiencies on the sites.

Non-accessible content

The above-mentioned sites contain non-accessible content that is not within the scope of the applicable legislation or has not yet been made accessible due to a disproportionate burden.

Content that is not within the scope of the applicable legislation:
  • office program files (e.g. DOC, PDF, ODT) published before September 23, 2018 and which are not required for using our services
  • video or audio recordings published before September 23, 2020.
Content for which we claim a disproportionate burden:
  • File attachments

To the extent that file attachments (instructions etc.) published before September 23, 2018 are required to use our services, we will make such critical file attachments accessible.

Due to the large number of files, we will make the accessibility corrections when the files are otherwise updated. We are training our personnel to produce accessible content and we are continually monitoring the accessibility status of our website.
  • Other content

The website contains some tables in CSV format. The contrast ratio in the icons for sorting the columns in the tables does not meet the WCAG 2.1 criterion 1.4.11. The contrast ratio between the top images of the site (Hero image) and the text on top of them does not meet the criterion of the Directive 1.4.3. In addition, not all webinar recordings and their materials or PowerBi-reports comply with the Accessibility Directive.
