Eureka SMART Cluster Program promotes concrete applications of Advanced Manufacturing technologies (technology areas in more detail, pdf).
SMART mission is to boost the competitiveness, growth and attractiveness of the European discrete manufacturing industries through the promotion of R&D&I in an open community of industrial organisations: large industries, SMEs, associations; RTOs and academia along the whole value chain. As a Eureka Cluster, SMART is grounded in Europe and open to worldwide participants from the Eureka network.
Aim of the call
The criteria for funded projects are described on the SMART website.
Consortium
Companies and research organizations can participate as part of an international consortium. In this call, Business Finland may grant funding to joint Co-innovation applications of Finnish companies and research organisations together. Separate R&D-funding applications from companies are not funded.
In addition to following the guidelines of the international call, the applicants and projects need to follow the Business Finland funding terms and guidelines which can be found in the Business Finland website.
Call timetable
The call is multi-stage:
- A Project Outline must be submitted to SMART at the latest by 22 January 2026.
- A Full Project Proposal must be submitted to SMART at the latest 27.4.2026.
The process and timeline of the international call are described in detail on the SMART website. Applications for national funding must be filed to the Business Finland online service. unless otherwise agreed, the national application must also be filed at the latest 27.4.2026.
