Unlock the potential of Europe's rare true-growth forests and join the Hackathon challenge by Business Finland's Data Economy program and Ultrahack!

In this Beyond Dead Wood hackathon you will set up a controlled comparison example, and provide an introduction and data to both forest ecology, AI, and remote sensing to serve as the criteria for a hackathon effort.

Successful solutions will contribute to a paradigm shift in biodiversity conservation, offering a completely new, scalable and reliable method to identify, validate, and preserve ecologically valuable forests.

The winning solutions may have the potential to reshape industry practices, reconcile conservation efforts with economic interests, and create a sustainable future for our planet that preserves biodiversity.

This Hackathon event is organized by Business Finland's Data Economy program, Ultrahack and partners including Metsäteho, Location Innovation Hub EDIH, Geoforum and Arbonaut.

For details, see Ultrahack's event page and apply to the Hackathon. The registration deadline for this Hackathon is 26 February 2024. Be quick as places are limited!

Please join the Beyond Dead Wood pre-hackathon webinar on 13 February and come learn more about the practicalities of the hackathon!
