Tony Hunter – As a Global Food Futurist Speaker with a background as a food scientist and over three decades experience in the food industry, Tony has witnessed and participated in huge transformations. He has developed a limitless appetite for the Food Technologies, becoming one of the worlds thought leaders on the Future of Food. His TECHXponential™ concept revolutionizes the understanding of the Future of Food.

We need solutions to feeding the exploding population on our planet. Tony’s keynotes explore how we can we use technology to sustainably and equitably increase food production to feed the global population. All while minimizing our impact on the environment.

Minna-Mari Kaila – Minna-Mari Kaila is the Director General of the Food Department from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Finland. Previously she has worked as a director in Finland’s Central Union of Agricultural Producers and Forest Owners and also as a State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

The promotion of safe, sustainable, productive, and profitable food production and agriculture has been an important goal throughout her career.

Emilia Nordlund – Emilia is working at VTT as a Research Manager of Industrial Biotechnology and Food. Emilia’s ambition is to generate well-being to people and environment by innovative solutions based on food and biotechnology research. Her scientific expertise is in plant-based ingredient and food technologies, and she has explored how cellular agriculture, i.e., food production by microbes and other cell cultures can be used for future food production. Emilia was also leading the organization committee of the 1st International Cellular Agriculture conference organized in Helsinki in 2023.

Veera Virtanen – Veera Virtanen is the Ecosystem Lead at Valio for the Food 2.0 program. She is an experienced leader in business and technology development in the field of sustainable businesses. Veera’s passion is to promote collaboration and sustainable growth as well as to support Finnish technology-based companies to succeed. 

Food 2.0 is an extensive research, development and innovation project, aiming to create a nature-smart food system in which growth, profitability and added value are built on the basis of sustainable production. The Food 2.0 project has been granted EUR 10 million funding for Valio and EUR 20 million for the ecosystem projects in Business Finland’s challenge competition for leading companies. Valio is the first food company that Business Finland has chosen as a leading company.
