Join us on February 16, 2024, to discover the findings and insights from a study commissioned by Business Finland on South Korea’s hydrogen market and the opportunities it presents for Finnish companies!

South Korea introduced its ‘Hydrogen Economy Roadmap’ in 2019 with the vision to become a global leader in the hydrogen economy. Subsequently, in 2021, the country enacted the world’s first hydrogen law. Korea’s hydrogen industry is forecast to more than double in size, growing from KRW 11tn (EUR 7.67bn) in 2021 to KRW 26.8tn (EUR 18.6bn) by 2030. The demand for hydrogen is estimated to reach 3.9 million tons by 2030 and 27.6 million tons by 2050. This growth will be driven by investments from large local players as well as government initiatives, recognizing hydrogen as a key future growth engine and a crucial element in achieving its carbon neutrality goal by 2050.

This event is tailored for Finnish energy and technology companies exploring opportunities related to the hydrogen economy in collaboration with South Korea.
