Defense and Digital Resilience program is organizing a webinar to present the results of a study on opportunities for the Finnish defence industry in Australia. The study has been prepared in co-operation with Team Finland, Finnish Defence & Aerospace Industries PIA and consulting firm De Stefano & Co.
The Australian Government has released the 2024 National Defence Strategy (NDS) and the 2024 Integrated Investment Program (IIP). These initiatives outline significant investments in defence capabilities, aiming to transform the Australian Defence Force (ADF) into a more integrated and focused force. €210 billion will be spent on new Defence equipment over the decade out to 2032/33.
For Finnish companies, the IIP and the seven Sovereign Defence Industrial Priorities (SDIPs) could present exciting opportunities to enter the market through procurement, collaboration, or subcontracting with Australian defence industries.
The aim of the webinar is to provide Finnish defence companies with:
- Insights into the IIP and SDIPs
- Key decision makers and influencers in the Australian Government and Defence industry
- Roadmap of purchase and procurement processes
- Differences in acquisition and management processes across defence areas (Navy, Army, Air Force, Cyber, Space, etc.)
- Competitive potential areas for Finnish companies and gaps in the competition
- Potential business partners: OEMs, integrators, resellers, subcontractors
- Success factors and entry barriers for the Australian defence market, including legislative restrictions.
