Alberta is quickly becoming a leader in North America for companies committed to sustainable energy. As the Canadian energy capital, Alberta has more than 800 oil and gas operations. Following the Pathways Alliance commitment to net-zero emissions, Alberta is now driving innovations enabling the growth of the sustainable energy generation, storage and hydrogen sectors, with $2 billion CAD invested in renewable energy since July 2019.
Business Finland, together with the Finnish Canadian Business Council (FCBC), will host a series of presentations relevant to Finnish cleantech companies seeking commercial activities in Canada. Those presentations will be followed with a panel discussion and a Q&A session with high-level representatives from public and private institutions deeply involved in sustainable energy projects and financing in Alberta. This event will provide Finnish cleantech companies practical advice on entering the Canadian market, further insight on opportunities related to public & private financing and other forms of commercial collaboration, and a chance to deepen Canadian networks.
