The Team Finland Network is organising a high-level business delegation visit to New Zealand and Australia from 30 November to 2 December. The delegation is led by Ms. Sanna Marin, Prime Minister of Finland.
The reshaping of the global geopolitical map drives like-minded countries to join forces in their race to net zero while facing the challenge of increasing ideological divisions both globally and nationally. The countries advocating for open societies and sustainable growth need to work together to counter powerful and divisive narratives of authoritarianism. Cooperation is needed to manage supply chains and energy sources, and to invest in trustworthy emerging technologies to ensure economic, political, social and environmental stability.
This high-level Team Finland visit will focus on cooperation opportunities in critical communication technologies and green transition. Finnish cutting-edge businesses have plenty to offer in both areas. Sector-specific low-carbon roadmaps showcase how the transition can be executed with likeminded partner countries such as Australia and New Zealand.
Ensuring energy security, and therefore national security, and the ability to control supply chains are high on the Australian government’s agenda. The country’s energy sector is undergoing a deep transformation – it has huge potential to become a clean energy superpower with considerable global leverage. The newly elected government in Australia legislated a 43% reduction by 2030 and a net zero target by 2050.
Finland and New Zealand are small advanced economies that face many similar challenges and opportunities. Sustainability, green transition and circular economy are increasingly high on the agenda also in New Zealand. Finding new markets and diversification in current geopolitical environment is an imperative that connects our countries.
Kindly note that participation is limited to 10 companies and one participant per company on first come first served bases. Participants should be either CEO, Chairman of the Board or a Member of the Board of Directors.
