The Team Finland network in USA would like to invite Finnish companies interested in built environment and cleantech opportunities in the US and New York market to attend our webinar on 10 August, 2023. This webinar will be presented by the Building Energy Exchange of New York City, USA.

The Building Energy Exchange will present an overview of the New York market, specifically as it relates to opportunities and challenges for green building innovation. This will include information on the overall landscape of New York, current opportunities, and future perspectives for built environment. Additionally, a Low-Carbon Built Environment delegation visit to New York is planned for Finnish companies 12-14 September, 2023.

About the speakers

Richard Yancey

As founding Executive Director of the Building Energy Exchange (BE-Ex), Richard FAIA, LEED AP, has created a pioneering International Center of Excellence dedicated to building energy efficiency. The non-profit BE-Ex works to accelerate the transition to healthy, comfortable, and energy-efficient buildings by serving as a resource and trusted expert to the building industry.

Through education, exhibits, and actionable research, BE-Ex plays a central role in climate action plans of both New York City and State. The organization also advances high-performance buildings globally, as the founding member of the United Nations ECE International Center of Excellence for High Performance Buildings. Prior to founding BE-Ex, Richard practiced architecture in Seattle and New York, leading a diverse array of award-winning commercial, institutional, and residential projects.

Michael Reed

As Senior lead focused on building decarbonization NYSERDA, Michael works on the Clean and Resilient Buildings group at the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, where he leads a team focused on building decarbonization demonstration projects, working with leading developers, engineers and technology providers to support private sector investment in building energy efficiency, electrification, and load flexibility.

Prior to NYSERDA, Michael was VP of Programs at Groundswell, a clean energy non-profit; and a long time ago, Michael spent three years in the Peace Corps in Peru.
