Team Finland and the Colombian and Peruvian Embassies in Finland are collaborating to promote a fantastic opportunity for the Finnish business community interested in doing business in the Andean Region.
Colombia has Latin America’s fourth largest economy with a €316 billion GDP and third largest population with over 51 million inhabitants. GDP grew at 7.3% in 2022. Colombia serves as a regional trade hub and as a member of the OECD; it attracts interest for its business-friendly policies as well as its economic and political stability. The country is betting strongly on digitalization and sustainability leading the energy transition in Latin America with an abundant availability and potential of various non-conventional renewable resources to meet a growing demand.
Peru has one of the fastest growing economies in Latin America, with a GDP growth of 2.7% in 2022 and a stable outlook currently rated BBB, one of the strongest credit ratings in the region. Peru is one of the world’s leading producers of mineral commodities and its mining sector is one of the country’s strongest economic pillars due to its contribution to their GDP. The country’s infrastructure and energy sectors also have a great deal of potential with diverse projects on telecommunications development, transport projects, health, and education plans to close social infrastructure gaps, amongst others.
At this event, you will learn about the current business environment in Peru and Colombia and the best practices to grow your business in the Andean region. In addition, you will hear from two Finnish companies already working in the market under different and successful business models. By sharing their experiences, we wish to promote a meaningful learning opportunity and inspire others to build successful business partnerships.
