The Team Finland Network is organizing a business delegation visit to the State of Texas on 15.-17 November, 2023 led by Ambassador, Consul General Mr. Jarmo Sareva, Consulate General of Finland in New York.
The Team Finland delegation will visit Houston and Austin with the theme “Intelligent Health Ecosystems”. This mission builds on a partnership Finland and Texas started in 2022, with a special focus on (1) connectivity (5G, 6G), (2) digital health and medical technologies (3) smart hospitals. The delegation will meet with representatives of leading research organizations, hospitals and companies.
Finland and Texas signed an agreement of mutual cooperation in 2022 during a visit of Minister for Development Cooperation and International Trade Ville Skinnari to Texas. Texas is the 2nd largest economy in the United States after California and one of the leading regions in healthcare and technology.
The delegation plans to visit destinations such as the Texas Medical Center, Dell Medical Center, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston Methodist Hospital. MD Anderson and Houston Methodist hospitals were recently listed among the Top 10 Smart Hospitals in the World by Newsweek. University of Texas at Austin recently announced building of two new hospitals with a total investment value of 2,5 billion dollars.
The visit is an excellent opportunity for Finnish innovators, small and big businesses and research institutions to expand the relationships with partners in the United States or explore opportunities for market entry in areas of smart devices, sensors, meters, analytics and wireless capabilities among others.
This visit is targeted at Finnish companies and research organizations whose focus is on wireless technologies, smart devices, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, sensors, metering and smart hospitals.
We welcome Finnish companies traveling from Finland to the US that are wanting to explore working relationships through co-development and cooperation with the Texas healthcare ecosystem. Finnish companies' local representatives in the U.S. are also welcome to join the delegation.
