Team Finland China is organizing a local business delegation visit to Shandong province (Jinan, Qingdao and Yantai) on 8 - 11 May 2023, led by Ms. Leena-Kaisa Mikkola, Ambassador of Finland to China. The focus of this visit is Carbon Reduction (incl. energy, bio & circular economy and sustainable construction), Consumer, Food, Health and Industrial Digitalization (incl. smart manufacturing, maritime).

Shandong Province, situated on the eastern edge of the North China Plain, spans approximately 158 000 square kilometers and has a population of over 101 million (2022). The GDP reached 8.74 trillion yuan ($1.27 trillion) in 2022, an increase of 3.9 percent from the previous year, ranking no. 3 in China.

Finnish companies can benefit from cooperation with Shandong in several areas, and successful cooperation already exists in industries such as maritime, speed train manufacturing, paper mills, metal processing, timber importing and others. Due to its geographic location, Shandong has extensive exports to South Korea and Japan. The upcoming visit to Shandong will explore more business opportunities in new areas.
