Following very successful activities in the UK during 2023, Business Finland’s Low Carbon Built Environment export program is organising a continuum trade mission to London on 21-23 October 2024.

The purpose of the upcoming visit is to establish collaboration between the participating Finnish companies and potential customers in the UK built environment industry. The aim is to target leading building developers, architects, construction companies, technical designers and real-estate owners. Participating in the trade mission gives an excellent opportunity to meet relevant companies and potential partners from the UK.

During the visit, Business Finland will organise group meetings and tailored individual B2B meetings with main local stakeholders. In addition, the Finnish Ambassador to the UK, will host two consecutive networking events at his Residence on 22 October:

  • Session 1 with invited guests from the English Regions (London, West Midlands, South West, North West, and North East)
  • Session 2 with Key representatives from the UK’s built environment ecosystem

The UK construction market is one of the largest in Europe, with an annual output of c. €200 billion. It has ambitious targets for Net Zero. Although the delivery to date has been patchy, there are significant potential opportunities for Finnish suppliers in several areas. These include the need for extensive retrofitting of existing buildings (both residential and public buildings such as schools and hospitals), as well as such areas as digitalisation, BIM, BMS, timber construction, efficient heat and pre-fabrication.

Who should attend?

The visit is aimed at Finnish companies that have export solutions for the low carbon built environment and want to pursue the UK as a strategic market or partner.

The participating companies should have products/solutions/services for:

  • energy efficiency and the optimisation of energy use
  • low carbon building materials
  • digital design, construction, and operation processes
  • data and tools for managing both the built environment life cycle and smooth everyday life.

You are welcome to participate in the visit again – or join as a newcomer! Kindly note that participation is limited to 10 companies on a ‘first come, first served’ bases.
