The Team Finland network together with the Finnish Defence and Aerospace Industries (PIA) is organizing a Business Delegation visit to the Republic of Korea and Japan led by Mr. Antti Häkkänen, Minister of Defence.
Republic of Korea
Korea’s “Defense Innovation 4.0” program allocates 40.5 billion euros to drive smart defence solutions, including the development of manned and unmanned complex combat systems, strengthening space and cyber security, electromagnetic spectrum tracking capabilities, innovation in military structure and education and training. Together the civilian and military satellite programs alone will receive around 8 billion euros for satellite development. This visit offers Finnish companies the opportunity to introduce dual-use digital solutions for digital resiliency and the chance to discuss collaboration.
Japan
Japan allocates 254 billion euros over five years for strengthening of comprehensive defence system in four areas: Research to enhance a holistic defence system, Development of public infrastructure, Cyber security capabilities and International cooperation. Especially for cyber security and public infrastructure (civil protection) there has been good development in the recognition of Finland in Japan this year by the support of Team Finland.
The goal of the visit is to foster relations between Finland and the target countries, as well as to offer an excellent opportunity for Finnish companies to establish high-level business connections with companies and public authorities in Korea and Japan and explore collaboration possibilities. During the visit Finnish companies will meet with leading defence companies as they look for new solutions.
The visit is for Finnish companies and research organizations within the following sectors: Korea (innovative Digital solutions for Defence, for example Critical communication, Cyber security, Metaverse, New Space, Situational Awareness) and Japan (Cyber security, critical communication and Civil protection facilities). The business delegation’s focus is in dual-use technologies.
To cover the costs of arranging the visit to the Republic of Korea and Japan, Business Finland will charge a participation fee. The participation fee is divided by country, and at registration, you can choose the country or countries you would like to participate in.

Business Finland will invoice the participation fee after the visit based on the actual costs. The invoiced fee will not exceed the amounts mentioned above. Kindly note that the participation fee does not include flights or accommodation of the delegate nor meals outside the delegation program.
