The Team Finland network is inviting Finnish companies to join a delegation to Vietnam and the Philippines to explore opportunities in two rapidly growing economies.
The aim of the visit led by Mr. Ville Tavio, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development, is to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance commercial cooperation in the fields of sustainable growth, green transition and digitalization.
In Vietnam, Minister Tavio will visit Ho Chi Minh City – the largest economic center in Vietnam, which poises to become a potential regional economic hub in near future. The Minister and delegation will attend the Green Economy Forum & Exhibition (GEFE) 2024 which takes place October 21-23, 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City. GEFE is an annual event organized by EuroCham in cooperation with Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam under the auspices of the European Delegation and the Government of Vietnam.
The GEFE 2024 will provide an effective opportunity for policy dialogues with senior government officials and business exchanges with local and international partners in areas of technology and solutions for renewable energy, sustainable buildings and construction, circular economy, digitalization, emerging technologies and more.
Within the framework of the visit, Minister and his delegation will also hold official meetings with representatives of the local and central government and other relevant stakeholders, together with visits to the project sites and companies around Ho Chi Minh City.

This delegation presents a unique opportunity to explore trade prospects and potential partnerships in the Philippines, marking the first ministerial-level visit from Finland since the Finnish Embassy's reopening in 2020. The Philippines has the fastest growing economy in Southeast Asia with a developing market offering numerous opportunities especially in the fields of green transition, circular economy, and digitalization.
During the current government, the Philippine business environment has become more favorable for foreign operators. Despite challenges like corruption and vulnerabilities in transport and energy infrastructure, President Marcos Jr. has prioritized easing business processes to attract foreign investment. As the positive development of the business environment continues, there are plenty of opportunities for Finnish expertise in EPC.

Finnish companies offering solutions to aid in the countries’ green transition and digitalization. We also welcome companies offering know-how in infrastructure projects such as airport and port modernization to join the delegation to the Philippines.
To cover the costs of arranging the visit to Vietnam and The Philippines, Business Finland will charge a participation fee as indicated below. The participation fee is divided by country, and at registration, you can choose the country or countries you would like to participate in.

Business Finland will invoice the participation fee after the visit based on the actual costs. The invoiced fee will not exceed the amounts mentioned above. Kindly note that the participation fee does not include flights or accommodation of the delegate nor meals outside the delegation program.
