Join Trade & Innovation Mission to Taiwan on 26-29 November 2024, organized by Business Finland’s Chips Campaign together with 6G Bridge program.
The Trade & Innovation Mission to Taiwan is a valuable opportunity to explore the semiconductor market in Taiwan. The delegation will meet several key stakeholders, including private enterprise, research institutes, universities and industry associations. The main goal of the visit is to learn about Taiwan’s semiconductor industry clusters and ecosystem, meeting potential customers or partners in the market as well as to present Finland’s offerings to Taiwanese stakeholders.
Taiwan is a leading player in the global semiconductor industry, producing over 60% of the world's semiconductors and dominating in advanced IC design and packaging. The government's NT$300 billion (USD 9 bn) 'Taiwan Chip-based Industrial Innovation Program' aims to further this by enhancing infrastructure, talent development, and doubling their IC design market share by 2033. This robust ecosystem offers significant opportunities for Finnish companies seeking sales, partnerships, and R&D projects, with Business Finland paving the way for fruitful collaborations.
The program is planned to start from 26 November evening with internal briefing and finish around noon on 29 November. The visit program will mainly take place in Hsinchu, where the semiconductor industry cluster is located, and will include visits to several key private enterprises, such as UMC (World top 3 foundry), Hon Young Semiconductor Corporation (under Foxconn Group) and PSMC. As for research side, the delegation plans to visit National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University to meet a few research teams that work closely with the industry and have a fab tour at Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). Lastly, the delegation plans to co-organize a meet-up event with SEMI Taiwan to invite stakeholders in different sector, such as packaging and display companies.
