Business Finland is organizing a trade mission to Hainan, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong on 6-8 November 2024. The focus of this visit is medical technologies, digital health, and biotech and diagnostics.

During the visit, Business Finland will, in cooperation with local key trade partners, organize matchmaking seminars and visits with local fast track hospitals, health authorities, potential business partners, and investors.  

Why Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and Hainan: The healthcare industry within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and Hainan is experiencing rapid growth and brimming with enormous potential. This dynamic region is proactively promoting access to innovative global medical technologies and pharmaceuticals in the Chinese market by implementing early market access programs, thereby facilitating quicker and more straightforward entry pathways. 

Exciting prospects lie within the digital health sector of the region, with both public and private hospitals aggressively advancing towards digital transformation. Health authorities in Guangdong and Hong Kong are spearheading initiatives to accumulate health data and are collaborating to expedite the digital health revolution across the region. 

Moreover, the GBA is home to burgeoning biopharmaceutical, biotechnology, and diagnostics industries. These industries not only stand at the forefront in China but also demonstrate a robust growth trajectory. The region has proven to be an attractive hub, successfully drawing substantial investment from both domestic and international circles, underpinning its position as a leading force in the healthcare sector.

Practicalities

To cover the costs of arranging the visit to China, Business Finland China will charge a participation fee.

  • Micro businesses and SMEs: EUR 160 per person
  • Major companies: EUR 190 per person

  • If invoice paid in Finland 25.5% VAT will be added
  • If invoice paid in China 9.42 % will be added for official receipt “fa piao”


Business Finland will invoice the participation fee after the visit based on the actual costs. The invoiced fee will not exceed the amounts mentioned above. Kindly note that the participation fee does not include flights, trains or accommodation of the participant nor meals outside the business delegation program.
