Business Finland is inviting Finnish shipbuilding companies to join this trade mission to the Basque Country on 13 - 14 May 2025 (Travel days 12 and 16 May). The Basque Country is a key hub for shipbuilding and maritime innovation in Spain and this visit provides a unique platform to connect with top Spanish shipyards, engineering firms, and key ecosystem players. This Trade Mission is organized in cooperation with the Basque Maritime Forum (FMV)

Program

  • Visit to shipyards (TBC: Murueta, Zamakona, Balenciaga)
  • Visit to engineering naval firms & key ecosystem integrators/distributors (TBD). We will be collaborating closely with the FMV and its members
  • Networking and market information event with ecosystem leaders (FMV)

This Trade Mission is aimed at Finnish companies involved in shipbuilding; including shipyards, marine technology firms, engineering consultancies, and solution providers.

  • Robotic solutions for welding of micropanels/blocks
  • Digitalization and automation of surface treatment processes
  • 3D modeling
  • Real-time asset location
  • Design of offshore structures
  • Manufacturing analysis
  • Manufacturing of metal structures for offshore wind
  • Development of efficient ship propulsion systems and alternative fuels
  • Hybrid and electric propulsion systems
  • Circular solutions for waste minimization and waste revaluation
  • Energy efficiency, with a focus on energy monitoring and regulation systems
  • Development of new materials
  • Digital solutions as a tool for modeling, simulation, design, and management processes

Participation fee

To cover the expenses of arranging the program in Spain Business Finland will charge participation fees of:

  • Major companies: 870 EUR + VAT per person
  • SMEs and Micro businesses: 740 EUR + VAT per person

Business Finland will invoice the participation fee after the visit based on the actual costs. The invoiced fee will not exceed the amounts mentioned above.

Kindly note that the participation fee does not include flights or accommodation of the delegate nor meals outside the delegation program.
