The Team Finland network invites Finnish companies to join a Business Delegation visit to Dhaka, Bangladesh, led by Mr. Jarno Syrjälä, Under Secretary of State (International Trade). The visit focuses on the textile industry, ICT, and smart infrastructure under the themes of sustainability and smart solutions, providing a unique opportunity to explore one of Asia’s most dynamic markets.
Bangladesh is poised to become the 9th largest consumer market by 2030, fueled by a youthful workforce (62% under 35) and steady economic growth (~7%) despite global challenges. Its rapid digitalization, evidenced by a 25% rise in digital payments and some of the world’s lowest data costs, underpins its transformation into a key investment destination.
The textile industry, the third largest globally, presents opportunities for eco-friendly solutions such as textile recycling, wastewater treatment, and chemical-free processing. Meanwhile, the growing ICT sector is driven by advancements in software development, BPO services, and e-commerce, offering revenue potential in software and application innovation.
Bangladesh’s national roadmaps, Vision 2041 and Delta Plan 2100, aim to position the country as a developed economy, leveraging its strategic location and focusing on modernizing its shipping and ports sector. These initiatives create demand for green and smart infrastructure & EPC solutions, such as optimizing port operations, logistics systems, cargo tracking, and inland waterway improvements.
With its demographic advantages, strategic location, and evolving trade agreements like the upcoming EU-Bangladesh Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, Bangladesh offers Finnish companies a wealth of opportunities to contribute to its sustainable development while gaining access to a rapidly expanding market.
Join the delegation to discover how Finnish expertise can support Bangladesh’s transformative journey.
Finnish companies interested in the Bangladesh market and wanting to enter the market, or Finnish companies already operating in the Bangladesh market and wanting to expand the operations. The companies should have their focus on textile industry, and ICT & smart infrastructure offering solutions to e.g. textile recycling, waste to fibre, waste-water recycling, smart & sustainable construction, digital and/or physical infrastructure
