LAAD – Latin America Aerospace and Defence – is the largest and most significant trade fair for defence and security in Latin America. The 2025 edition will take place from April 1–4 in Rio de Janeiro. This biennial event serves as the premier networking and business platform for professionals in the defence and security sectors across the region.
In 2025, LAAD will celebrate its 15th edition, bringing together qualified visitors from the Armed Forces, police, industry, and government. The event will showcase the entire defence and security supply chain, host official delegations with authorities from Brazil and other Latin American countries, and feature parallel events such as public security meetings and the Military Logistics Symposium. The previous edition welcomed over 192 official delegations, 36,700 visitors, and 362 private firms showcasing their expertise and technology solutions.
The Team Finland network, in collaboration with the Finnish Defence and Aerospace Industries, PIA, will organize a Business Delegation visit to Latin America from March 31 to April 3, 2025. Led by Mr. Esa Pulkkinen, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, the visit offers a unique opportunity to connect with key companies and officials, fostering relationships and exploring opportunities in Brazil's and other Latin American markets’ defense, security, and aerospace sectors.
Who should attend?
The delegation visit is designed for Finnish companies that:
- Have a strong existing market presence or an entry strategy in Latin America,
- Are actively pursuing the region as a strategic market or partner, or
- Showcase Finnish flagship solutions and technologies in:
- Aerospace, defence, and security,
- Space, specializing in land, naval, the new space economy, situational awareness, and mission-critical communications,
- Cybersecurity industries.
This visit aims to strengthen business ties and provide companies with a platform to showcase Finnish innovations and expertise to key stakeholders in Brazil and the broader Latin American region.
Participation fee
To cover the expenses of arranging the delegation program in Brazil on March 31-April 3, 2025, Business Finland will charge a maximum participation fee as follows:
- Micro businesses and SMEs: EUR 1870 + VAT (25.5) per person
- Major companies: EUR 2200 + VAT (25.5) per person
The participation fee includes a ticket to the LAAD trade fair.
A 25% discount on the participation fee will be granted for each additional representative from the participating company. Business Finland will invoice the participation fee after the visit, based on the actual costs. The invoiced fee will not exceed the amounts mentioned above. The participation fee does not cover flights, accommodation, or meals outside the delegation program.
