In collaboration with Mining Finland, the Team Finland network is pleased to invite you to participate in a high-level business delegation to Saudi Arabia and Oman, scheduled for January 12–17, 2025, under the leadership of Mr. Wille Rydman, Minister of Economic Affairs of Finland.

Key Highlights

  • Saudi Arabia Visit (12-15 January): Participate in the region's premier mining event, the Future Minerals Forum (FMF) in Riyadh, offering unparalleled networking opportunities with global industry leaders and access to the largest mining market in the region. To register and learn more about FMF: Future Minerals Forum.
  • Oman Visit (15-17 January): Build on the successful visit by H.E. Qais Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion of Oman, to Finland in September 2024. The delegation will focus on enhancing collaboration in mining, sustainability, and digitalization.

Why Join the Delegation?

Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 prioritizes mining as the third pillar of economic growth, aiming to increase its contribution to 4% of GDP by 2030 and reduce mineral imports by 39% by 2035. With an estimated $1.3 trillion in untapped mineral resources, including gold, copper, phosphate, iron ore, and rare earth elements, the Kingdom presents lucrative opportunities for Finnish companies specializing in mining technologies, sustainability, and circular economy solutions.

Key Highlights:

  • Underexplored Potential: The Kingdom's vast and underexplored mineral reserves offer exceptional opportunities for exploration and production.
  • Strategic Focus: Saudi Arabia seeks to integrate into global supply chains for raw materials critical to sectors such as renewable energy.
  • Economic Reforms: Foreign direct investment (FDI) targets are set to rise from 4% in 2016 to 6% by 2030, with private sector contributions expected to increase from 40% to 65% of GDP over the same period.

Oman

Oman has undergone significant economic transformation driven by its Vision 2040 strategy, which aims to diversify the economy and reduce reliance on oil and gas. This ambitious plan focuses on increasing the non-oil sector’s share of GDP to over 90% by leveraging private sector investment and expertise.

Oman’s Vision 2040 prioritizes economic diversification, aiming to reduce oil and gas reliance by expanding sectors like mining, logistics, and renewable energy. The country’s 10th Five-Year Plan (2021–2025) is aligned with this vision, emphasizing sustainability and the integration of advanced technologies.

Key Highlights:

  • Policy Support: Oman offers robust incentives for FDI and public-private partnerships (PPPs).
  • Emerging Opportunities: Mining, sustainability, and digital transformation are key growth areas where Finnish companies can offer cutting-edge solutions.
  • Stable Growth: According to the IMF, Oman’s GDP growth is expected to increase modestly, supported by diversification initiatives.

Delegation Themes and Program

  • Riyadh: Mining focus, with participation in FMF, B2B meetings, and networking with government and private stakeholders.
  • Muscat: Focus on mining, sustainability, and digitalization, with tailored B2B meetings, high-level engagements, and a networking program with key stakeholders from public and private sectors.

This is a unique opportunity to expand your business into two dynamic markets and align your solutions with the ambitious goals of Vision 2030 in Saudi Arabia and Vision 2040 in Oman.
