Business Finland is organizing a trade mission to Norway on 6 – 8 May, 2025 focusing on heavy electric traffic.
Norway aims at reducing its climate gas emissions with 55% by 2030. Electrification of transportation is an important segment towards this goal. In recent years, the focus in Norway has moved gradually from personal vehicles to commercial vehicles and public transportation, and there are national targets for electrifying new heavy vehicles such as long-haul buses and trucks by 2030. The development is supported by governmental subsidies and financial benefits.
This visit offers an opportunity to learn more about the development within heavy electric traffic in Norway from companies leading the transition. The program includes site visits to heavy vehicle charging lots for both trucks, buses and ferries, meetings with pioneering companies with heavy electric fleets and networking with local stakeholders involved in the electrification of road and waterborne transportation. The delegation will be transported with an electric bus and sail on an electric ferry to offer the participants a first-hand experience with electric mobility.
