Business Finland, together with the Team Finland network, invite Finnish companies to join a business delegation visit to Istanbul and Ankara on May 25-29, 2025. This visit offers a unique opportunity to meet key stakeholders, including Turkish and Indonesian EPCs (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), international banks, international financial institutions, and African government officials, to explore collaboration on global infrastructure projects.

Business Finland and Finnvera help Finnish companies participate in and win international EPC-led infrastructure projects by connecting leading global EPCs with Finnish solution providers and offering Finnish Export Credit Financing. The focus is on large-scale infrastructure projects, such as airports, railways, roads, data centres, hospitals, renewable energy and water, where Finnish expertise brings added value.

The financing of large-scale infrastructure projects is typically arranged by international banks. These banks seek risk mitigation from Export Credit Agencies (ECAs). Major projects could involve several ECAs each providing cover for their national exports. As the Finnish ECA, Finnvera can participate in the financing by insuring the Finnish exports to the project.

Türkiye ranks as the second-largest group on ENR’s 2024 World’s Top 250 International Contractors list, with 43 companies operating in 137 countries across the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe, and Southeast Asia. Turkish EPCs lead major infrastructure projects, including airports, railways, highways, data centres, hospitals, energy facilities, and stadiums, with an increasing focus on green and sustainable solutions.

The visit program includes:

  • One-on-one meetings with selected EPCs in Istanbul and Ankara
  • Türkiye-Finland Global Sustainable Construction Forum in Ankara, co-organized with the Turkish Contractors Association.
Key Sessions During the Forum:

  1. Collaboration Opportunities between Turkish EPCs and Finnish Solution Providers
How Finnish companies can partner with Turkish EPCs on global projects, supported by Finnvera’s financing.
  2. Southeast Asia Collaboration – Featuring the Indonesian Contractors Association
Opportunities for Finnish solution providers to engage in Southeast Asian projects, with Finnvera’s backing.
  3. Financing Options for International Projects
Insights from international banks, international financial institutions, and development finance institutions on financing large-scale global projects.
  4. Data Center Projects – Expert Insights from Finnish Professionals
Explore emerging opportunities in data centers, a rapidly growing sector for Finnish technology and expertise.
  5. Infrastructure Projects in Uganda and Rwanda – Presentation by Government Officials
Officials from Uganda and Rwanda will showcase upcoming infrastructure projects, creating new collaboration possibilities.
