Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) is a €2 billion partnership between the European Union and Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC) that funds projects advancing competitive circular bio-based industries in Europe.
CBE JU is operating under the rules of Horizon Europe in 2021-2031. The partnership continues the activities of Bio-based industries joint undertaking (BBI JU) with the updated agenda.
Strong, resource-efficient and competitive bio-based industries have an important role as Europe is shifting away from non-renewable fossil raw materials and minerals. By producing renewable bio-based products and materials from waste and biomass in an innovative, sustainable and circular way, bio-based industries can contribute significantly to the climate neutrality target by 2050.
CBE JU focuses on supporting research and innovation for sustainable bio-based solutions, de-risking innovations, addressing technological, regulatory and market challenges of the bioeconomy, enhancing sustainability and strengthening collaboration among bioeconomy actors and stakeholders.
This info day on 10 June is organised by Business Finland's Bio & Circular Finland program. At the info day event, Head of CBE JU Programme, Virginia Puzzolo, will be presenting the CBE JU programme and its call for 2022 opening in June. In addition, member of the CBE JU states' representative group, Sari Tasa from Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment of Finland, highlights our national ambitions in the bioeconomy field and we will also hear participants sharing their experiences about the earlier BBI JU projects.
