Business Finland has published a report on the results of its RRF export programmes. The report shows how the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) funds have been used to promote the exports of Finnish companies. Through three programmes, hundreds of businesses have received practical help and support for their export efforts.
Finland has received a total of 1.8 billion euros of RRF funds. Business Finland has granted businesses 420 million of RRF funding for investments and R&D projects. In addition, three million euros have been spent from the RRF facility to support the internationalization of Finnish companies through three export programs.
The themes of the export programmes were decarbonizing industries, low carbon built environment, and innovative health and well-being solutions.
The programs mapped and established the best target markets for companies involved. Then, Business Finland helped businesses in finding clients and create networks with business delegations and digital marketing, among other things.
The programmatic measures of the Low Carbon Built Environment will continue until the end of 2024. The themes of other export programs are included in Business Finland's services of the funding, programs, and internationalization.
The export programs have brought visibility and credibility to hundreds of companies and provided them with networks in a cost-effective manner, making it easier to open new markets. Companies have gained news contacts with both customers and export promoters around the world. Contacts help the companies continue their export efforts directly in the target market of their choice.
“With the support from Business Finland, we have been able to better approach decision makers in relevant companies, and this has led to new business for us,” says Jens Westerbladh, CEO of DataPartner, one of the participants in the decarbonizing industries programme.
During the export programmes, Business Finland has also built networks that know the decarbonization and healthcare solutions of Finnish companies and, on the other hand, the needs and purchasing power of the target market. This makes it easier to continue export promotion in the future.
