Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona was led by Business Finland's 6G Bridge program with input from Data Economy, Digital Trust and Smart Manufacturing programs.
The aim at the MWC 2024 was to create awareness of Finland's expertise and strengths within 6G, system integration, wireless and wired networks, devices, security and trust fields. The messaging around the 2024 project concentrated on 5G & 6G and the future of connectivity, sustainability, and happiness. Business Finland organized several high-level meetings between important decision-makers.
Finland trusted Happiness to differentiate the pavilion from numerous competitors. Happiness is one of the factors that makes Finland a prime location for creating world-class success stories.
On Tuesday March 27th Finland organized a networking event '6G Meets Happiness'. The program included an opening by the Minister of Transport and Communications of Finland, Lulu Ranne who opened the event, Harri Holma, Fellow from Nokia held a keynote speech called 'From 5G Learnings to 6G Design Targets' and Kalyan Kumar, Global CTO from HCLTech and CPO at HCLSystems continued with a keynote called 'Leveraging Emerging Technologies for Global Transformation and the Unique Contribution Finland Can Offer'. The event attracted a big crowd, and it created a lot of positive feedback.
"At the MWC, there was a strong focus on the importance of commercializing wireless technologies. While commercializing 5G, now is the right time to invest in 6G IPR work," says Connectivity Lead Mika Rantakokko from VTT.
