On the second day of the fair, 4 March, Business Finland hosted a networking event ‘Create connections in the State of Happiness’. The event included an opening speech by Permanent Secretary Minna Kivimäki from the Ministry of Transport and Communications, and a key note speech from Mr. Harshul Asnani, President/Europe at Tech Mahindra, who highlighted the pathway to effective collaboration with global system integrators for impactful and transformational partnerships. The networking event at the Finland Pavilion has established a good reputation and a very good turnout was guaranteed once again.
Finland was named the happiest country in the world for the 8th time in a row recently in the UN Happiness Report. Happiness as an attribute has already established its position as a crucial part of Finland's country image alongside education, good governance, and environmental themes. And we were taking advantage of this differentiation factor: happiness was visible in the Finland Pavilion design, created marketing materials and key messaging.
Happiness is one of the factors that make Finland a prime location and partner for doing business – and for example 6G development. Finland’s consistent ranking as the happiest country in the world is attributed to the high levels of trust and freedom in the society which, according to research, contribute to wellbeing, productivity and innovation.

“Finland has been ranked the happiest country in the world. In the end, this is the most important goal for any decision-maker – to ensure a high quality of life for their people. Success in digitalization and innovation is undoubtedly linked to our high happiness ranking, but we also recognize that technology alone does not automatically translate into well-being. I believe this is where the Finnish model excels. We don’t develop technology for its own sake. Instead, we develop it to serve people – to make connections more accessible, more secure and more reliable while ensuring that progress is responsible and future-proof,” said Permanent Secretary Kivimäki in her opening speech.
