BF-ID is the common user ID for Business Finland's online services. BF-ID is personal. With BF-ID you can use Business Finland's services more easily and securely.
You can use all the Business Finland (BF) online services with a single login.
BF-ID replaces the user IDs of the different Business Finland services in the login situation. BF-ID will be introduced to Business Finland's online services in phases. Up-to-date information on the services using the BF can be found on this website.
The use of BF-ID is secure and free of charge.
A BF-ID is created when you register for the first time for one of Business Finland's digital services using the BF-ID. It requires you to first authenticate yourself on the Suomi.fi online service. To identify yourself in the Suomi.fi online service, you will need a mobile certificate, an electronic identity card or online banking credentials. Only use personal IDs. Follow the instructions on the service. Using electronic services is secure when you are strongly authenticated.
You will also need a valid email address to use as your username. We recommend that you choose an email address that you actively use. We will send messages regarding your BF-ID to this email address. We also recommend that you add your phone number.
Finally, if you are using a public or otherwise shared device, please clear the browser cache and close the browser.
For an up-to-date list of services that use BF-ID, please see below under 'Frequently Asked Questions and Answers'.
Business Finland's services are for businesses and research organizations. We assume that you link your personal BF-ID to the company or organization where you work.
When you link your BF-ID to your organization, other members of your organization will automatically receive a request from you to join for approval. Approval from one person already in the organization is sufficient.
The approval is done in the BF-ID service, where you accept the join requests sent to you. You can also use the service to invite other colleagues to join your organization. Please note that Business Finland will never ask you to log in to the BF-ID service via the link in the email but will ask you to log in to the BF-ID service via our website.
If your membership of the organization is approved and you become a member of the organization, you will also be responsible for approving any new members joining your organization. As a member of your organization, you can invite your colleagues to join your organization. If there are any problems with joining, please ask your colleague in the first place whether they have received and accepted your request to join. If the problem persists, please contact Business Finland's customer service by sending a message.
You manage all your own data in the BF-ID service. You are responsible for keeping your BF-ID details up to date and for joining the organization.
Once you have created BF-ID, you can use all Business Finland services that use logging through BF-ID. Depending on the service, we will ask you to authenticate either with a strong login (Suomi.fi login) or with the email address (username) and password you provided during registration.
If the service uses confidential data, the service will ask you to authenticate each time via the Suomi.fi strong authentication. The service can also check whether you are authorized to a certain business and provide information on behalf of the organization.
When you register to use Business Finland services, you may be asked to accept the terms of use of the service. Please read the Business Finland Privacy Policy
