Kimmo Kanto has been appointed as Vice-Chair of the Council of the European Space Agency
Kimmo Kanto, who works at Business Finland, has been appointed as Vice-Chair of the Council of the European Space Agency in Interlaken, Switzerland, on March 19, 2026. Kanto will begin his term on July 1. The ESA Council is the organization’s highest strategic decision-making body, and Kanto is the first Finnish representative to hold the position. At Business Finland, Kanto is the Director of the Space, Defence and Connectivity unit.

President Stubb grants internationalisation awards to Orion, Sensofusion, Sandvik and Finnish Startup Community
The President of the Republic has granted the annual internationalisation awards to three companies and one community. Orion Corporation won the 2025 Growth Company Award. The Newcomer Company Award went to Sensofusion, and Sandvik Mining and Construction was recognised as the Long-term International Investor. The year’s Community Award was granted to the Finnish Startup Community.

Business Finland's leading company activity grows to record levels
Business Finland will award record level funding to new leading company projects and to expansion of existing projects. The first funding decisions of the year were made on April 20, 2026. Expansions of leading company projects are included for the first time.
