Team Finland and Work in Finland invite you to join the Talent Boost business and stakeholder delegation to Vietnam and the Philippines from January 12-17, 2025.

Vietnam and The Philippines present significant potential for talent attraction for workers in various sectors. Finland aims to strengthen partnerships in talent attraction and collaborate on labor mobility with both. The delegation visit aims to promote international recruitment cooperation from Vietnam and the Philippines and strengthen Finland’s image as a destination for work-based immigration. The delegation will be led by Mr. Arto Satonen, the Minister of Employment of Finland.

Participants will have excellent opportunities to connect with government entities, educational institutions, recruitment partners, and other stakeholders in order to support recruitment and find needed skills. Participating companies can also network with fellow delegation members, including the Minister of Employment and other high-level representatives such as Mayor of Helsinki Mr. Juhana Vartiainen.

Draft program

Who should attend?

This visit is highly relevant for Finnish companies in need of talent, recruitment sector companies, employment regions, healthcare service counties, cities, industry or employer associations and educational institutions.

Why Vietnam?

Vietnam is a dynamic economy with a rapidly growing talent pool, particularly in sectors like technology, manufacturing, healthcare and engineering. The country has a young, educated and motivated workforce. Strengthening ties with Vietnam allows Finnish companies to access this talent base. In addition, Vietnam is a growing investment destination in Southeast Asia, having a GDP growth rate of around 6% annually over the past decade. Work in Finland has a local specialist in Vietnam, which is a significant advantage for tapping into the Vietnamese talent market. Therefore, Finland has established excellent networks in Vietnam for talent attraction. By joining the delegation, your organization can gain valuable information and connections with key organizations related to labor mobility, such as MOLISA, DOLAB, educational institutions, and private sector recruitment agencies.

Why Philippines?

The Philippines is known for its skilled, English-speaking workforce in fields such as healthcare, engineering, manufacturing and technology, all of which are in high demand in Finland. The labor mobility system in the Philippines is regulated and controlled by the Filipino government through the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), which ensures that recruitment is conducted ethically and legally. By joining the delegation, Finnish companies can gain valuable insights into this system. Also, making connections with local private sector partners is essential to succeed in the Philippines. The Philippines is also the fastest growing economy in Southeast Asia and offers growing opportunities for businesses to expand and invest.
