Sustainable mineral exploration with AI
The vast AIMEX project seeks to revolutionize mineral prospectivity mapping with machine learning and to develop a sophisticated decision-making system for mineral exploration with a specific focus on sustainability.
The AIMEX project (Artificial Intelligence in Mineral Exploration) consortium has received a total funding of 5.6 million euros. Business Finland's share of this funding is appr. 3.2 million euros. The project runs until the end of 2025.
AIMEX is a project with multiple Finnish research organizations and companies in close cooperation with international partners.

This is exactly the kind of project that Business Finland's Data Economy program aims to accelerate. AIMEX is developing a completely new kind of solution and we expect the result to be a big leap in the international competitiveness of the Finnish mining industry", says Kari Klossner, Program Director at Business Finland.
