Launched in March, Konecranes' Zero4 crane project aims to improve the industrial productivity and competitiveness of Finnish companies. Zero4 is part of Business Finland's Data Economy program.
The Zero4 project aims to achieve its objectives by developing an integrated platform for materials flow management in collaboration with an ecosystem of partners, universities, research institutes and customers. More than 70 partners are expected to join the project by 2027.
Business Finland can fund Konecranes' Zero4 project with EUR 20 million and Zero4 project partnerships with a total of EUR 50 million.
"In addition to Business Finland's funding, Konecranes will invest EUR 40 million in the project over the next five years, continuing to achieve its technology and sustainability goals and increasing labour productivity. With this funding, Konecranes and its ecosystem partners will significantly increase their research and innovation activities over the next five years. This is a unique opportunity for Finnish data and digitalization industry players to get involved in the world's leading digitalization of material flows and the time to join is now," says Kari Klossner, Program Director at Business Finland.
With the leading company and ecosystem funding, Business Finland is looking for research, development and innovation (R&D&I) projects to be funded through challenge competitions for leading and challenger companies that solve significant future challenges and contribute substantially to increasing Finland's competitiveness.
